On July 23, 2019, our client, Mr. Shaw, was driving a commercial motor vehicle (tractor- trailer)for US Foods through Perry, Georgia. He was driving south on I-75 towards Port Orange, Florida. It was raining heavily. Mr. Shaw slowed down due to the weather conditions and heavy traffic on the interstate. The defendant driver was speeding next to him on the interstate. Her vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into the side of his tractor-trailer which was fully loaded with freight. Mr. Shaw was injured and sought medical treatment when he arrived in Florida. Powers Law Group successfully obtained the entire policy limits from the at-fault driver’s insurance company of $25,000 and $25,000 from his own underinsured motorist carrier. Additionally, the workers compensation insurer waived their subrogation claim.
