Powers Law Group is proud to be a sponsor of The Mentor’s Project of Bibb County. For those of you who might question the existence of Santa, we know she does exist. Her name is June O’Neal. For over 25 years, June has led The Mentor’s Project. Citizens of Macon often refer to her as “The Mother Teresa of Macon.” She has clothed, fed, and practically raised thousands of young people in Macon-Bibb through her work with The Mentor’s Project. This year has been challenging for all of us, but imagine life for young people for whom their safety net is school.For the majority of Bibb County Public School students, who live below the federal poverty line, school is the place they can count on for food, security, and safety. Since March, June has led an extraordinary effort to ensure that no child in our community has gone hungry. She has collected thousands of pounds of food from donors, organized volunteers, packaged food, and delivered it to the children/youth in greatest need. This is just the tip of the iceberg, in terms of the work of The Mentor’s Project. Because of their commitment to serve and the dedication of June O’Neal, Powers Law Group has donated $6,500 in 2020 to support their work.
